Ashely is a very experienced teacher and gave us a great demo lesson. I would describe her lesson as "beautiful". Beautiful teacher, beautiful lesson, beautiful music, beautiful voice, and intonation. At the beginning, she used binoculars and various sounds to lead us into the context of the text, giving us a sense of immersion. After that, Miss Ashley let the students guess the development of the story based on the pictures, and then read and listen to the whole story afterwards, which keeps the integrity of the story and stimulates the students' interest in listening. By underlining the time in the text, the story's development was more clearly defined. Then Miss Ashely used different ways, including filling in the blanks, imagination, dialogue, and other different ways to further analyze the text, layer by layer. Finally, an acrostic poem was used to punctuate Puffins, which was very interesting. Miss Ashley also gave the students the moral eduation, that is to care for our nature. This is really a very nice lesson and I learned a lot.

I thought Mandy‘s class was very, very good. I particularly liked it because it was very, very clear. Clearly set out the objectives, what the names of class were. And it also flowed very well. Students knew where they were for each stage. And I actually learned something from Mandy’s class as well for my future classes, where towards after we do some critical thinking about the story and ask the students questions to actually use pictures as well to build up students’ answers to get to think about. I do that with my class, but I generally just get them to tell me the answers and then I write it on the board. But I think using the pictures like Mandy did in her class was very good, because it reinforced for the students, particularly for vocabulary and about them formulating their own sentences. I really like Mandy’s class. I thought it was very well done and very well structured. And it also finished as well with the songs. Good job!

Sam has a great relationship with his class and an easy-going attitude. Being laid back can build a better relationship at times. Also, being clear and direct with goals.
