2.jpg

My classmates and I, accompanied by our teacher, took a ride on the London Eye. With the breathtaking scenery all around, we happily took photos of one another. It's an enormous Ferris wheel, and from up there, we had a clear view of the iconic Big Ben and many other renowned landmarks, which left a deep impression on me.

When we reached the top, we were awestruck by the stunning panorama of London. Without a doubt, my favorite sight was the Big Ben. Gazing down at it from the London Eye was truly a magical moment. Right next to the Big Ben, we could see the Westminster Bridge. On the other side, the bustling city of London came into view.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip on the London Eye. It was a truly fantastic and unforgettable experience.

London boasts numerous iconic sights, yet two stand out prominently: the River Thames and Tower Bridge.

The River Thames is vast. It meanders through the very heart of London, where large vessels glide across its expanse. The water shimmers under the sun at times, and at others, takes on a moody, grey hue. This historic waterway has served as a bustling artery for centuries, shaping the city's growth and prosperity.

Elegantly spanning this mighty river is the remarkable Tower Bridge. More than just a bridge, it's an architectural marvel featuring two imposing stone towers connected by elevated walkways. Its most captivating feature? The central section of the bridge can be raised. The road splits into two halves, lifting skyward like colossal arms to allow tall ships to pass through, a spectacle that never fails to impress.

As you stand on the bridge, gazing down at the Thames as it winds towards the sea, you can almost sense the weight of London's history. Together, these landmarks embody the essence of the city—timeless, powerful, and truly unforgettable.

The Natural History Museum

7.jpg

The Bank of England Museum

8.jpg

The British Museum

The National Gallery

The Science Museum

Last week, we went to London and visited many museums including the Science Museum, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the National Gallery. Among them, my favorite was the British Museum, which is located on the north side of Oxford Street in Great Russell Square. It has a vast collection of 8 million items. Although only 1% of them are on display, it still dazzles the eyes. In the center of the museum, there is a huge library which was originally the old Royal Library of Britain. The library is filled with all kinds of famous books. When the German Karl Marx was in Britain, he often studied hard in seat number 7 of this library. It is said that he liked to rub his feet when reading, and there are still his footprints under that seat.

This week's trip to London has enabled me to learn more about the world.

We visited many museums during the fantastic trip in London, including the British Museum, the Bank Museum, the National Gallery, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. I think the most impressive one was the National Gallery. In the gallery, I saw many delicate paintings and exquisite sculptures which carried the historical and cultural significance. The painting I like most is Van Gogh’s Sunflower. Our guide said that it was painted to welcome his friend. I stood in front of the painting for a long time. I could feel the sunshine shines on the petal and the sunflower unfolds its petal to greet its new birth. The bright yellow color shows the positive lifestyle of the sunflower and Van Gogh himself. It inspires us to overcome the difficulties and fight against the obstacles bravely. After visiting all the museum, a kind of power filled my mind. It is the power of artwork, the power of history, the power of the splendid spirit.

On the second day of our study tour in London, we visited Oxford University. It started in

the 13th century and is the most ancient university in the UK. Looking up at the ceiling of the grand spiral staircase, we can see beautiful patterns that show which family was the most powerful in ancient times. The red rose represents the Family of York. The crown on top represents Henry Ⅷ in the middle. Many symbols painted together to form this big pattern. This university is the place where Professor McGonagall welcomed Harry to school in the Harry Potter movies, and it's also the dining hall where students have meals daily. There were portraits on the wall, and it was resplendent and magnificent overall. This university is also well-known for English Language and Literature. Someday, I also want to study here.

The Royal Observatory Greenwich is the most famous for establishing the Prime Meridian (0° longitude) in 1884, which became the global reference for timekeeping and navigation. This decision unified the world under a single standard, enabling international trade, travel, and communication.

Standing on the Prime Meridian line, I felt the irony of its legacy—while it connects the world scientifically, it also reflected British imperial dominance. The choice of Greenwich was political, not purely geographical, sidelining other cultures' contributions.

Today, the Prime Meridian remains a powerful symbol of how science and politics intersect. It reminds us that even objective standards carry historical biases, urging us to consider inclusivity in modern global systems.

Today, we got on the bus full of excitement—because we were going to LEGOLAND! Along the way, we talked about what adventures awaited us.

As we entered LEGOLAND, we were amazed to see colorful buildings made entirely of LEGO bricks. The Miniland area left a deep impression on me. It featured miniature versions of world-famous landmarks, including our own magnificent Chinese Palace Museum. Though small in size, the mini Forbidden City was full of charm and elegance—it made me feel proud of my heritage and reminded me how rich and beautiful Chinese culture is.

We also rode the Pirate Boat—it soared high in the sky, and everyone laughed like children. The roller coaster was thrilling, especially the second time when it turned upside down! The Kingdom of the Pharaohs and Knight’s Kingdom were both fun and creative.

At the end, we shopped in the LEGO store filled with so many types of LEGO sets—even dolls shaped like LEGO!

This trip was not just fun—it made me realize that Chinese culture can shine brightly on the world stage, just like LEGO bricks piecing together a global dream. I love LEGOLAND, and I love China!

Spending a day at LEGOLAND Windsor was an unforgettable adventure! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant LEGO sculptures and cheerful atmosphere filled us with excitement.

We zoomed around at Driving School, got soaked on the Pirate Falls water ride, and laughed through the 4D movie at the LEGO Cinema. The Dragon Coaster was definitely the most thrilling part! Lunch at the Knight’s Table was fun too—everything was LEGO-themed and full of imagination.

My favorite part was Miniland, where famous landmarks like Big Ben and the London Eye were built entirely from LEGO. What truly moved me was spotting the Forbidden City of Beijing. Though miniature in size, the red walls and golden rooftops stood tall in my heart. In that moment, thousands of miles from home, I felt a deep pride in my Chinese heritage. It was as if a piece of our nation’s soul had been carefully recreated in tiny bricks—shining brightly on the world stage.

We ended the day at the LEGO Shop, taking home more than just souvenirs—we carried with us joy, pride, and a reminder that Chinese culture, like LEGO, connects people across the globe.

6.jpg
